Canada snapshot for UAE students

Canada offers publicly-funded universities, a rules-based immigration system and clear pathways from study to work to permanent residence. UAE-based families like Canada for its safety, multicultural cities and — for many programs — moderate tuition compared with the US or UK.

Our Dubai counsellors handle the shortlist, application, Letter of Acceptance, Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) where required and the study permit filing on the IRCC portal.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers from our Dubai-based Canada admission counsellors.

IRCC currently requires proof of CAD 20,635 for a single applicant, in addition to first-year tuition and travel funds. Under the SDS route you show this by opening a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) with a designated Canadian bank. This figure is reviewed each year — confirm the latest figure on the IRCC website.

A Provincial Attestation Letter is a document from the destination province confirming your application counts within the province's annual cap. Since January 2024 most undergraduate and college applicants need one. Master's, PhD and K-12 applicants are currently exempt. Our team handles the PAL application for you.

Since March 2024, only spouses of students in select graduate-level, professional and doctoral programs are eligible for open work permits. We assess your spouse work-permit eligibility as part of the shortlisting stage so there are no surprises.
